HyakuninIsshu are a kind of karuta, Japanese traditional playing cards. The game is played mostly on Japanese New Year's holidays. On each card, a poem (waka) is written, and there are a total of 100 poems. The poems was chosen by a poet Fujiwara no Teika in Heian period. It's my great pleasure to introduce you my favorite poem. ''Color of the flower'' written by Ono no Komachi, one of the world's three beauties in history. Color of the flower Has already faded away, While in idle thoughts My life passes vainly by, As I watch the long rains fall. (by Ono no Komachi)

Hi,everyone! How was your weekend? I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. I went to Kobe and found fascinated automatic playing musical boxes there. They are quite charming and unique. One of them has a piano sound and the other has a singing sound. During the 19th century, before Edison’s phonograph became common, a coin-operated music box was seen in a hotel lobby and pub. The pleasant sounds brought a full of joy and energy to people! see you next time☆
